All social calls of the Nathusius' pipistrelle after the 15th of July.
To listen to social calls of the Nathusius' pipistrelle, you can visit the files of the following lists on Xeno Canto:
- Type A social calls of different species of bats
- Type B (roosting) social calls of multiple species of bats
- Type C.d (high frequency FM) social calls of multiple (flying) species of bats
- Type C social calls of multiple species of bats
- Type D (part D) social calls of the Nathusius' Pipistrelle
- Type D (part E) social calls of the Nathusius' Pipistrelle
- Type D (trills, wavy-line and other unusual) social calls of the Nathusius' Pipistrelle
- Modified echolocation (hooked calls) of Pipistrellus spp.
During mating season, the part D of the type D social calls of the Nathusius' pipistrelle become prevalent.

Social calls of two individuals are present in the first snippit, since a part D call is emitted at the same time as a part A+B+C call.

Two different advertising Nathusius' pipistrelles in the same area. One male was emitting calls from behind the fascia board of a building (first three snippits) and the other male was emitting calls from a weep hole in a building (last three snippits). Note the difference in the use and the overall shape of their part D per individual.

Interesting use of the syntax part A-B-C-B. This type D social call syntax appears five times in this recording. One time the syntact part A-B-C-B-C-B was used.

Almost continuously the use of part D motifs:
A wavy-line call! At the same location where slow trills and other unusual social calls were recorded during spring.

I have not encountered a recording before with this number of trills / wavy-line calls and trills of the Nathusius' pipistrelle. In total, I counted 9 wavy-line calls and 13 trills. A list of time stamps is written down on Xeno Canto.

And during mating season, another recording was made containing three(!) wavy-line calls around 11 kHz. The motif Part E is also present three times, together with the syntax part B-C, part B-C-B, part A-B-C and a lot of singular used part B's.
The first wavy-line call is present in the recording of the batlogger M (first snippit) between 3,800s and 3,950s and in the recording of the Echo Meter Touch 2 (second snippit) between 8,400s and 8,550s.
The second wavy-line call is present in the recording of the batlogger M (first snippit) between 12,350s and 12,550s and in the recording of the Echo Meter Touch 2 (second snippit) between 15,250s and 15,400s.
The second wavy-line call is present in the recording of the batlogger M (first snippit) between 13,750s and 13,900s and in the recording of the Echo Meter Touch 2 (second snippit) between 16,350s and 16,450s.
The part E motifs:
Kaz witnessed multiple advertising Nathusius' pipistrelle advertising stationary on the same (rather big and complex) building.
This Nathusius' pipistrelle was seen flying around while emitting the calls and was seen tapping a building. Two possible wavy-line calls are present between 11,750s and 12,150s in the first snippit.
The following bat emitted some unusually shaped motifs. The bat was emitting the social calls stationary for at least an half hour. The exact location of the bat couldn't be found while using a flash light.
Another Nathusius' pipistrelle was emitting the calls stationary from the wall of a building. The bat went silent when a flashlight was used to lighten the wall.

Very interesting social calls (type D and type C) due to interaction between individuals. There appears to be numerous hooked echolocation calls present.

The interesting series of FM calls present between 8,500s and 8,750s in the recording is presumed to be emitted by the Nathusius' pipistrelle, but I can't exclude the serotine bat, whom is present aswell, from being the source.

This advertising male was already found during a survey on the 22th of August. The bat was emitting calls almost non-stop during the 2 hour survey. Sadly, the recordings from that night were corrupted. Two weeks later, the male was still advertising in the same spot in an alley.

The following recording contain antagonistic behaviour, indicated by the social calls, between a Nathusius' pipistrelle and a common pipistrelle. At least two individual common pipistrelles were present. The lower frequency FM-calls are emitted by the Nathusius' pipistrelle and the two to three component social calls (two-component version is shown in the snippit on thre right) are presumed to be emitted by one of the two common pipistrelle.
